A New Year with New Goals
So, a year has passed and we couldn't be happier. I do hope everyone else feels the same way. For us, everything has worked out just right. Of course, this could be partly due to the fact that we keep 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, 1 year, etc. goals. I've found they help a good deal.
In fact, right now I have a large 3'x4' piece of paper up with our long-term goals listed out by years and then by month/order. Below this is an 8.5"x11" printed piece of paper with what I need to do this week in order to reach my monthly/quarterly goals.
For example, this year we intend on shooting 35-45 weddings with a good portion (up to 1/2) of these being destination weddings.
So, while I hear about new years resolutions, I instead tend to think of my long-term goals. Rather than saying what I'd like to cut out from my life (such as a bad habit), I instead tend to look at what do I need to do to improve my life, our business, and hopefully help other people's lives as much as possible. I suppose it is just a different way of looking at a New Years Resolution. Rather than looking at what I can cut out, I look for what I can add.
