Equipment We're Adding in Next Year - Wahoo!
Hi Everyone!!!So, we absolutely LOVE what we do - photography, specifically, wedding photography that is. Though, I have to admit, having the equipment we've had so far is part of what makes it incredibly fun.For this past year, we've been using primarily the following equipment when shooting:1) Canon 5D (x2 - one for me, one for Anna) - these are WONDERFUL cameras for wedding photography. Truly some of the best.2) Canon 580 EX II Flashes (x2 - one for me, one for anna or one for off-camera flash)3) Canon 430 EX Flash (x1 - for off camera flash)4) Radio Poppers!!! - these are used to get great images using off-camera flash ... off-camera flash is using a camera off of the flash - it allows us to get a bit more artistic when it comes to lighting. Though, so far, we've only been sparsely using one off-camera flash most of the time.5) Lenses - 85mm 1.2L, 70-200 2.8L IS, 24-70 2.8L, 100mm 2.8 macro, & the 50mm 1.4 ... and the Lens Baby from time to time. So, these have been great, and we're definitely keeping most of them for next year ... though, we'll be adding on the following (and can't wait!).1) Canon 5D Mark II (x2 - One for me, One for Anna) - this is the new version of the 5D that just came out in November. So far, we're VERY impressed. It is a whopping 6x more sensitive to light ... meaning we can take better photographs in less light ... for weddings, this is outstanding. Ok, the technical side - that would be 3200 ISO vs. 25,000 ISO; techincally, it is 7.8x more sensitive, but, we haven't tested it ourselves yet, so I won't speak on that ... yet. It has other great features too. (Photograph taken from Canon.com)2) 50mm 1.2L - we have LOVED our 85mm 1.2L lens ... so, it is time to get the 50mm version. This will allow us to be a bit closer to the subject or get a bit more in the frame at the same distance (compared to the 85mm 1.2L). We easily see the 85 1.2 and the 50 1.2 being our two most used lenses next year ... easily.(Photograph taken from Canon.com)3) Three more Flashes and more Radio Poppers!!! We're looking to do a bit more off-camera flash next year. You'll definitely noticed a difference. We can't wait! Oh, and we're totally excited about the new Radio Poppers.
