New Website!

Well, our new site is up after a few glitches! Why change over to the new site? Well, our old one did not have the average user in mind. It was designed for computers operating at 1280x1024. So, the new site allows more people to view it comfortably. Hopefully everyone likes the change!
We've definitely been contacted by more and more brides/grooms lately! Great to talk to all of you! We're looking forward to this year - it really will be a great year!
A picture taken this past weekend while camping with a friend of ours. I just thought it looked rather unique. I wonder if you can see our baked potatoes in there ...
ISO 200 1/2 sec. exposure at f/5.6 using the good old 18-55mm lens ...I'll be using this explination of my shots from now on-
ISO - the ISO is the film speed in a film camera. The digital camera replicates this. 100 ISO is the lowest one normally shoots at - you can use it for a bright sunny day. 1600 or 3200 ISO is used to capture lots of light and usually used at night; however, it often results in grainyness - which may or may not be a bad thing. I used 200 ISO here as I am shooting a fire! That is pretty bright!
Exposure Time / Shutter Speed: The shutter speed is how long the lens is actually open. As you see in this picture, a shutter speed of 1/2 second can result in some odd images if the camera is not stabalized. During the day, I normally shoot around 1/60 of a second to 1/4000th on a very bright day. For indoors, depending on the lens I am using, I may shoot from 1/20th of a second to about 1/125 of a second. Sometimes I might go up to 1/200th or so - again, depending on the lens and the ambient lighting.
Aperature (f/5.6): The aperature can be explained by how much is in focus. At 5.6, basically a 10 ft radius is in focus. At 1.4, there is a very small range for something to be in focus - so small that the front of a wedding ring can be in focus and the back of the ring can be blurred. I'll try to add a picture like that next chance I get. At 20+, basically EVERYTHING is in focus. This is good for landscape pictures.
18-55mm Lens: Well, this is one of our lenses. Think of it as a 0-3x zoom (very rough estimate). Though, there is a lot more that goes into it than that. This lense is normally used for close up shots such as this (I was perhaps 2 ft from the fire) and for group shots as it is known as a 'wide angle' lens.
Enough Photograph knowledge for the day! I hope everyone is having as good of a day as I am!
