Our New Blog Look!
Hi Everyone!Well, we've been busy (to say the least) - and we're thrilled to announce our new blog design! If you're reading this, you're seeing the changes. However, I'll go over some of the new features (and new things to come).First off, our older blog design:And our new blog design:
Ok, so, on to the changes beyond just the basic design difference (which we love the new design!). I'd say there are a few major points - larger images, easier commenting, facebook integration, recent and related posts, better navigation, and a full-blown blog-site!
Larger Images - ok, so, this is pretty neat. We've gone over from a blog size of roughly 800 pixels wide to 1000 pixels wide! This means larger images! Also, we'll be integrating a plugin in our next few posts that will allow full-screen viewing of the images! The full-screen images might take a while to load, but it will be well worth it! This change came from some of our favorite clients, specifically, Marylee (in the image above), saying what a difference viewing her images full-screen made. So, if we can make it happen on a blog post, we will.
Easier Commenting - I made the commenting section a bit more streamlined. Hopefully, this will encourage more comments and make it a bit easier to comment!
Facebook Integration - Ok, so, this is kind of fun. The plugin wordbooker allows comments to be pulled off of facebook and onto our blog (and vice-versa). So, comment here or comment on our facebook page - no need to comment on both places!
Recent and Related Posts - It's about time we added in easier navigation when at a post. Before, when you reached the bottom of the post, well, other than commenting, you were done with no where else to go. Now, we've integrated related posts and recent posts!
Now, we come to the new navigation and our blog-site change. Of course, we love our main website, and, by far, it is our main site and we're keeping it as such. However, as owners of iPads, iPhones, and other multimedia devices ourselves - well, we can certainly see the need for a more sophisticated site for mobile viewers to browse. So, we've added in all of the sections from our website onto our blog! Enjoy! Also, we're adding in easier navigation to specific posts.
Oh! And one last section - the For Photographers section. Ok, we admit it, we've been pretty relaxed about adding posts when we're speaking or teaching workshops. But, no more! We'll be flushing out this section of our website as the area continues to grow for us.
Let us know what you think about the changes!!!
