Atlanta SmugMug - Success!
Hi Everyone!Anna and I just wanted to share that we had a great time this past Thursday leading the Atlanta SmugMug lighting seminar/workshop. It was a really great hands-on experience for the 60+ photographers (by my count) that came. We had so many photographers come up and tell us how much they appreciated being able to have some hands-on time with different lighting setups. So, here's what we did: We started earlier in the day setting up five different stations with equipment provided by PPR. We had a full high-key/cyc wall setup (using three light sources), a softbox, a shoot-through umbrella, a 6' Octabank, and a bounce-off-of umbrella. We wanted to give everyone a real feel of what it was like to use these different setups and what they can expect to receive from each different type. From what we've heard so far, everyone really had a great time with this. Basically, they stepped up, changed to the pre-determined settings, attached the flash connection (wireless), and fired away (after we first had a live-demonstration of each setup with Anna as the model). A HUGE thank you to everyone that modeled for us that evening. With that, we wanted to share some photographs from the evening. Enjoy! Oh, also, we'll be speaking for the Roswell Photographic Society on March 7th - we hope to see you there!
The setup above along with the first image at the top of the post. From left to right here, you can see the softbox, umbrella, & octabank. Also, you can see the live demonstration in the back & projector on the left side.
A huge "Thank You!" to PPR Atlanta their space, equipment, and time!
The image above is a shot taken when we were setting up the lighting. Johnny was a HUGE help to us setting up. Gotta love the test shots. We really thank Johnny and Rupa (the Smugmug leader) for contributing so much of their time to help make this a great meeting.
Anna was the model for us as I did a live presentation - so, a few photographs of Anna to come. This was taken using the softbox.

Bounced Umbrella. I'd say this is about a third to a half of the attendees - and, to the right is the presentation/live image showing what is being captured. You can see the previous live image on the iMac in the background.

We also wanted to share a few images from some of the attendees at the SmugMug meeting!
Thank you to everyone that came! We can't wait to do this again!
